Why does it run if the animals don't work?
Animals can be considered economic actors without "working" in the human sense of the term, because the economy is not based solely on direct labor, but also on the flows it generates once that labor is completed. Indeed, human labor often intervenes upstream: it creates infrastructure, exchange systems, legal frameworks, and markets. Once these elements are in place, it is the flows—of materials, services, value, attention, or resources—that sustain the economy. Animals fully participate in these flows simply by existing: they generate exchanges (food, care, protection, tourism, biodiversity), influence investment decisions, and shape ecological balances upon which human economic activity depends. Thus, without producing intentional or paid labor, animals act as centers of value around which economic flows circulate, which justifies their recognition as full-fledged economic actors.
What are the donations used for?
For the moment, the donations are used to create a common fund. These funds are invested in secure investments.
How will the animals benefit from the funds?
Ultimately, we hope that owners will be able to apply to manage their animals' assets. The purpose of the authorization is simply to limit abuses.
Both farm and wild animals will be represented as groups.
How long will it take for the project to come to fruition?
Probably several decades, perhaps even centuries, the ultimate goal being for animals to own half of the world's wealth.
